Lizzy the GooseMeet Lizzy the Goose.

If you've spent any time in Fremont, you've probably seen her.

Maybe she was gliding across Lake Elizabeth, gathering with friends at Coyote Hills, grazing in one of Fremont's parks, or confidently crossing a sidewalk near City Hall as if she owns the place. Wherever you go in Fremont, Canada geese seem to be there too.

That's what inspired Lizzy the Goose.

For generations, Canada geese have become one of Fremont's most recognizable residents. They are a familiar sight throughout the city and have developed a reputation for being adaptable, persistent, and impossible to ignore. While some residents admire them and others may occasionally find them a little too comfortable in our public spaces, one thing everyone can agree on is that geese have become part of Fremont's story.

Lizzy's name is inspired by Lake Elizabeth, one of Fremont's most beloved landmarks and a place where residents regularly encounter the city's famous feathered friends. Like the lake itself, Lizzy is at the center of community life, connecting people to the places, services, and opportunities that make Fremont unique.

Curious, observant, and always on the move, Lizzy knows her way around the city and loves helping people discover what Fremont has to offer.

Whether you're looking for City services, community events, park information, development projects, permit assistance, or answers to everyday questions, Lizzy is ready to help point you in the right direction.

Monty the SabercatMeet Monty the Sabercat.

Long before Fremont's neighborhoods, trails, and thriving Downtown took shape, sabercats roamed the landscape that would one day become our city. Millions of years ago, during the prehistoric era now known as the Irvingtonian Age, these remarkable animals lived throughout the region, leaving behind fossils that would eventually bring national recognition to Fremont's rich natural history.

In fact, the Irvingtonian Age takes its name from Fremont's own Irvington District, where significant fossil discoveries helped define this important chapter in North American paleontology.

Today, Fremont continues to celebrate this unique legacy through places like Sabercat Historical Park, the Sabercat Trail, and plans for a future Fossil Museum, which will showcase the extraordinary fossils discovered right here in our community.

Inspired by this fascinating history, we introduce a friendly sabercat named Monty. Named with a nod to Fremont and the iconic saber-toothed cats that once roamed the region, Monty represents the city's unique connection to the Irvingtonian Age.

Like the explorers, scientists, and residents who have helped shape our city, Monty is curious, knowledgeable, and always eager to help.

While his ancient relatives once roamed the hills and valleys of Fremont, Monty’s mission is much simpler: helping residents and visitors navigate City services, discover community resources, learn about local programs and events, and find answers whenever they need them.

Think of Monty as Fremont's prehistoric guide for the modern age, connecting our community's remarkable past with its innovative future.

Scout the InnovatorMeet Scout the Innovator.

Long before Fremont became one of the most innovative cities in the Bay Area, it was a community built by makers, builders, inventors, and problem solvers. Today, that spirit of innovation continues to define the city.

Known as the "hardware side of Silicon Valley," Fremont is home to more advanced manufacturing than any other city in California. Here, ideas don't just stay on a computer screen, they become the products, technologies, and breakthroughs that help shape the future. From clean technology and life sciences to autonomous vehicles and advanced manufacturing, innovation is part of Fremont's DNA.

That's what inspired Scout the Innovator.

From students exploring STEM education in local classrooms to the makers, entrepreneurs, engineers, and innovators developing tomorrow's technologies, Scout celebrates the curiosity and problem solving that drive progress. Built to be helpful, knowledgeable, and always available, Scout reflects the same qualities that have made Fremont a global center for innovation, advanced manufacturing, and technological advancement.

Just as Fremont's manufacturers turn ideas into reality, Scout helps turn questions into answers. Whether you're looking for City services, business resources, community programs, development projects, permits, events, or simply want to learn more about Fremont, Scout is ready to assist.
